How we started
Service Aspenpath began in 2019 when our founder, Ji-hoon Park, noticed a pattern among acquaintances in Seoul’s long-term holding community: people took cold storage seriously but kept transaction history scattered across screenshots, email attachments, and half-filled notebooks.
Ji-hoon had spent fifteen years in commercial bookbinding before encountering Bitcoin. He saw that the same archival principles — acid-free paper, consistent pagination, durable binding — could serve holders who wanted a permanent, device-independent record of their wallet activity.
We opened our Seocho office in late 2019 with a single binding press and a commitment to air-gapped formatting. Word spread through local meetups and holder groups. By 2022 we were binding ledgers for clients across Seoul and occasionally shipping volumes to holders elsewhere in South Korea.
Our approach
We treat every ledger as an archival document, not a receipt. That means readable type sizes, consistent column alignment, and binding that survives decades on a shelf. We never request private keys and never connect client workstations to the internet during formatting.
The team
Ji-hoon Park — Founder and lead binder. Fifteen years in commercial bookbinding, holder since 2016.
Eun-ji Choi — Ledger formatter. Former library archivist, specializes in tabular layout and index construction.
Marcus Webb — Client liaison. Fluent in English and Korean, coordinates review sessions and export handoffs.
Values we hold
- Privacy by practice — Your exports are formatted offline. Files are deleted from our workstation after binding unless you request otherwise.
- Clarity over volume — A ledger you can read at arm’s length beats a dense data dump.
- Honest scope — We bind records. We do not manage assets, recover keys, or provide financial guidance.
Community
We attend quarterly holder meetups in Seoul and contribute articles to our Field Journal on paper backup routines, labeling conventions, and archival care.
